Announcement
This blog has been dead for a long time. My Estonian-language handicraft blog HERE gets a much bigger proportion of my attention, so please feel free to check it out! ;)

Ongoing projects
- pinwheel sweater for myself from 100% wool yarn + slub yarn manufactured by Evilla Yarns
- crocheted Christmas cards embellishments, got some ideas from here
- felted soaps as Christmas presents (I made some tonight and my hands smell gorgeous!!)- a knitted hat and mittens from Katia Alpaca Andes - a Christmas present for my sister, haven't actually started yet because she refused to give her measurements before we meet on Christmas Eve... Ok then... I wonder whether this yarn felts?
Pictures to come....

Update on Picovoli
It's been a long time since I last scribbled something here. It doesn't mean though that I've been sitting and doing nothing as concerns knitting etc. On the contrary, I have some pretty things to show off but as I have no camera, I had no "evidence material" to put here. Last night my sister was here and took photos of my stuff. Until she gets them out of her camera and into my computer, I can show a picture of my Picovoli and one of the skirts I sew to match it. The pattern for the skirt comes from Burda 7/2006 - here's a picture and the pattern from the magazine.
The picture's taken in August at Ave & Rudolf's wedding party which took place in Maardu manor near Tallinn. Click the picture for a closer look!

Other projects
A couple of words about the other projects mentioned in the previous post:
- knitting a Picovoli to wear at Ave & Rudolf's wedding. I even joined the Tivoli/Picovoli knit-along!
- sewing a skirt to match the Picovoli, actually I've only had time to buy the fabric but I'll do the sewing at my parents' (in open air!)
- filet crocheting a doily for my mother from Burda Special No E496, pattern 12, if anyone's interested
- getting and testing ideas for two wedding cards (need to buy some more material)

Cherry bag BF
Here's my Cherry bag before felting:
The measurements are 27 x 25 cm, the handle is 116 x 4 cm.
I sort of gave up after the deadline mix-up, so since then I have concentrated on moving and other projects instead and let the felting wait until my vacation starts and I can to my parents' and splash with water and soap in the garden. Yep, I'm going to handfelt it as I don't really trust the washing machine :) This is actually my first felting project (after the swatch:P) so I want SO much to have it right!!! I have considered to put small pearls inside the "cherries" in an attempt to do something like shibori felting.

I can't believe I did it....
Somehow, I got the misconception that the deadline was July 14 and I was happy that I'd be able to finish my Knitting World Cup-bag by then, considering that I also had to move out of my old flat by that time.
By the way, I had a quaint memory of the other World Cup final taking place on the 9th (I don't have a TV myself and I wouldn't probably have watched the games even if I had one) but I was so overwhelmed by the preparations for moving out and in that I didn't even see the connection between the two World Cups!!!!!!!!!
I'm devastated :'(
As for the bag, it is finished and has yet to be felted, I had planned to do it tonight as soon as I got home from work.

Knitting World Cup 2006
------------
I've decided to join Knitting World Cup 2006 and my project is a felted bag. I've never knitted any bags and never done felting either (except for the swatch), so it will certainly be a challenge!
Here is the yarn:
and here is my swatch:
I must admit that I had already cast on and knitted ca 8 cm before the official kick-off on June 9th but, on the other hand, I haven't been able to knit anything since then, until yesterday, so I hope I won't be disqualified... Since the idea of a felted bag came into my head, I've been checking the Internet for tips but I can honestly say that the pattern is entirely mine :)
At this moment, the main part of the bag is almost finished. Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera, so I can't show any pictures yet.
I'll be moving into another flat in a week or so which means I need to pack and won't be able to knit for some time (although I plan to steal some minutes before going to bed or smth) but I still hope to finish the bag in time!
Seletuskiri

Niisiis
Kuna plaanin varasemast märksa rohkem käsitööd teha, siis oleks see hea koht, kuhu midagi käsitööalast postitada :)
